Your Accounts
- As a student at Buffalo State, you receive several computer accounts. Links to these accounts, and an explanation of their functions, may be found on the home page of this site, under My Accounts.
Accounts are automatically generated about 3 business days AFTER your tuition deposit is paid or waived. Your username (sometimes called “NT” username) is assigned when your account is created. If you don’t know it, visit the Computing Help Desk in E. H. Butler Library’s Information Commons Lab (157). You can look your Buffalo State username up on the Web. By default, your password is the first 6 numbers of your Social Security number. The first time you login to a campus computer, you will be prompted to change it. You can also change your password online.
Computer Labs
- Most of the open computer labs on campus are
located in E. H. Butler Library. Some departments have their own specially equipped labs: check with your department head. For a detailed description
of the hardware and software available in the library’s labs, please see Library Labs.
Wireless
- Everything you need to know about using wireless at Buffalo State can be found on Wireless Internet.
Transfer Students
- If you are a transfer student, you should be able to logon to Degree Navigator within one business day of your transfer evaluation. Use your Buffalo State username and the first 6 digits of your Social
Security number to logon. This will allow you to
see which courses transferred from your previous school, and to see how many credits you will
receive.
Note: Although your Degree Navigator account is created within one business day of acceptance, the rest of your Buffalo State accounts are automatically generated approximately 3 business days AFTER your deposit is paid or waived.
